Women enriched by stories and worship

Voices of 177 women of Mennonite Church Eastern Canada mingled in the high, bright chapel of Leamington United Mennonite Educational Institute on April 20 during Enrichment Day. The songs of praise and prayer, hope and healing, prepared hearts for the stories of loss and growth.

Guest speaker Sara Wengerd of Goshen, Indiana, served with Mennonite Central Committee in Belfast, Northern Ireland, from 1998-2001. Three decades of "the troubles" hide stories of great loss among civilians there. Wengerd helped women embrace all aspects of these "troubles."

Wengerd interviewed elderly people in nursing homes for a book titled, Crossings: Long Term …
