An overweight man toppled onto his wife rupturing her liver, theJiangnan Metropolis reports.
Weighing in at 106.05 kgs, the portly man, surnamed Sun, ofXiushui County, Jiangxi Province, was doing maintenance work on thefamily home and had asked his wife to hold steady the chair he wasstanding on.
But gravity got the better of him and he collapsed onto hisdiminutive wife, who weighs a mere 35 kgs.
She turned pale and suffered shortness of breath and was rushed tohospital where doctors diagnosed a ruptured liver. She is nowrecovering.
Falling hornets attack zoo visitors
Hornets in a nest which dropped to the ground in Shanghai zooattacked visitors and injured nine last Thursday, reports XinminEvening News.
The hornets flew out of the fallen nest in the elephant zone andstung whoever they met.
Nine injured visitors, all crying because of the pain, were sentto a nearby hospital. One of them was in a serious condition withsymptoms of headache, laboured breathing and shivering.
After treatment, all nine have improved. The zoo has explored thearea and found another three hornet nests, each with a diameter of 30centimetres.

These finger men, equipped with motorcycles and cellphones, werefound to have set up a network to relay messages.

Gas leak ignited by cigarette butt
Natural gas leaking out of pipes broken during construction wasignited by a cigarette butt of a stander-by last Saturday afternoon,reports Xinmin Evening News.
The pipe was broken during construction at a site in Pudong andthe gas issued from the pipe with a diameter of about 15 centimetres.
Workers hurried to call the police and fire fighters rushed tospray water to dilute the natural gas which burst into fire when acigarette butt was thrown by a worker standing by.
The fire died out only when the gas company came to close thevalve of the pipe 15 minutes later.
Surgeons face pre-op exam
A hospital in Shanghai has told surgeons who fail on-the-spotphysical examinations they will be banned from undertakingoperations.
Consultants at the Shanghai Ren'ai Hospital must answer eightquestions probing alcohol and drug intake within the previous 24-hour period. They will also be asked about their general state ofhealth.
Physical examinations including blood pressure, heartbeat and bodytemperature will also be taken.
Any doctor who fails any of the checks will be barred fromoperating and given a warning. Doctors warned twice in a year will bedismissed.
The measures are to prevent malpractice and safeguard patients'health, reports the Shanghai Morning Post.
Mayor orders car buying ban
Shanghai's Mayor Han Zheng has ordered his administration to stopbuying new cars for a year in an attempt to relieve serious trafficproblems, reports www.xinhuanet.com.
Experts said the new measure will help the government use carsmore efficiently and help ease Shanghai's notorious trafficcongestion.
It is estimated Shanghai has nearly 500,000 non-private cars,owned by government departments, institutes and State-ownedenterprises.
